Merry Christmas to All 2024

Well that’s nearly it for the year. We’ve had 15 new members join in 2024 :) not bad considering these little boats of ours are all approaching the half century mark, but still being on sold, restored, repaired but above all being sailed. When you think about the percentage of total 563s that are still sailing, as we’ve been able to monitor through this forum, it is pretty bloody impressive.

I have not posted about sailing Spritzig II much this year as health problems that come with approaching 70 have had to be dealt with but if I can sort out my trailer issues, I’m hoping to get a season or two more out of the old girl and maybe myself even :D I’ve tried to stick a few bits up that stimulate posts and conversations and thanks to all those that contributed to such. Also to Andrew, Peter and others who have started and shared interesting topics. Place is only as good as it’s contributors. There really is a wealth of good, useful information on this site.

I had the opportunity to meet up finally with my old online mate Emrys recently and recommend a look at “Current Affair “ his 563 currently up for sale (and sail) . He is a scholar, a sailor and a gentleman.

Once again all thanks to Geoff for keeping this forum running and rescuing it during the gremlin attack earlier . Mate you are worth your weight in Ronstan fittings! Also thanks to Ray for keeping the historical log up to date.

Stay safe all, enjoy your festivities however they find you and remember my broken record warning. You are safer with your foot on the cockpit floor over Xmas than the accelerator.

Hope the festivities are good for everyone, the sailing kitty isn't too lean now and the weather windows remain favorable.

Thanks for your xmas message Ozzie, and hope 2025 is a good year for small craft sailors, whether youre fixing things or doing upgrades, surfing the sailing net, on the roads or getting the bilges wet.

Wishing all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
