I use Johnson Floor wax as a final coating on the hull sides. After using normal marine polishes and cleaners it gets Johnson’s floor wax.
Every time!
You can walk on it .

Cleaning hull
I have the usual scum line on the hull that comes from lapping water above the anti fouling. It always gets ugly prior to haulout. I tried as an experiment hitting it with some clr while I was fiddling with bilge pump inside the boat fixing a disconnected handle. It was about half an hour later I ca...

Re: solar panels and charge controllers
Can you put two solar sources at once into the battery Andrew? That is if you have your fixed one connection active is there any issues with connecting the blanket at the same time to the same terminals. Curious relative to my motorhome. Blanket sounds good. And packs away small which is great.

Re: Swinging, swinging keel
Good news mate. I would be fairly certain that the cable is still connected to the swing keel which is why you can’t pull it through. Wait till you get the keel down to that point you can see and check. It may be all ok. At the very least you can attach your spectra to the end of the cable and use i...

Re: Swinging, swinging keel
Knew I had a pic of my bulkhead somewhere. Top arrow shows the exit point where you should have a sheave (roller) for your pull rope to exit. If your fittings are all absent you may just have a square hole . Lower arrow is indicating cleat to tie off the keel pull rope . While I’m on the subject not...

Re: Swinging, swinging keel
Meant to add if you get a dull pruning saw or standard hack saw you may be able to run it up the sides of the swing keel and remove some of the rust . As your seals will need replacement you probably don’t need to worry about damage . Be cautious about damaging interior surface of the fibreglass cas...

Trailer repairs
As per Ian’s request I'm starting a thread on my trailer repair. Like you Ian, I’ve done winch, wheels, tyres, bearings etc last haul out As the trailer only gets used for haulout, there has not been much wear and tear there, but as Neil Young intoned “Rust Never Sleeps” and the bastard doesn’t eith...
