Hopefully they still retain the molds from Bob. Good luck and please inform us how it goes.

Re: Trailer repairs
Thanks gents . The work is done. All new everything bar the original drop axle which was sound. I have prepared a detailed post with pics but quickly here’s a link I had in my favourites. Self explanatory . https://www.eatondetroitspring.com/lubricatingleafsprings/ My mechanic concurred. He recommen...

Re: Magnetic Island
Nice pics and narrative Andrew. Impressed with you neat seamanship with very orderly cord storage on the mast.
I fall down often with this.

Re: Mast Footing Fitting
Thanks Andrew. I hope I was not sounding overly alarmist with that warning but I think the tiny product warnings on product packets are pretty useless even though they are all that’s required by law. It’s worth noting all materials on worksites these days even if you’re servicing your boat in a comm...

Re: Trailer repairs
Thanks for all the input. I have unfortunately or fortunately as in “thank god” finished much of the work prior to reading it. I used Duragal steel as I had some on hand and purchased the rest locally. Due to health issues with my deteriorating spine there was no possible way I was able to strip the...

Re: Mast Footing Fitting
Good post Andrew! Just to reiterate a warning on Duralac from previous posts “Just a WARNING re Duralac. I was advised by Bob Keely that it’s important to use it even between aluminium to aluminium let alone dissimilar metals and it is good gear to prevent the issues I’ve just encountered but as I’v...

Re: Cleaning hull
I use Johnson Floor wax as a final coating on the hull sides. After using normal marine polishes and cleaners it gets Johnson’s floor wax.

Cleaning hull
I have the usual scum line on the hull that comes from lapping water above the anti fouling. It always gets ugly prior to haulout. I tried as an experiment hitting it with some clr while I was fiddling with bilge pump inside the boat fixing a disconnected handle. It was about half an hour later I ca...

Re: solar panels and charge controllers
Can you put two solar sources at once into the battery Andrew? That is if you have your fixed one connection active is there any issues with connecting the blanket at the same time to the same terminals. Curious relative to my motorhome. Blanket sounds good. And packs away small which is great.
