Investigator For Sale in Victoria but...

Post by TheMonk »

Someone has an Investigator 563 For Sale in Victoria on eBay but are they fair-dinkum? I don't know how to create a link to the ad' but have a look at eBay under Trailer Sailer and see what you reckon. I've seen the ad format before, perhaps they've tried to sell it previously?

Hi John:
I just looked at that ad on eBay too.
What a terribly sad story, if it's genuine!
As with any purchase, I would ask to see proof of ownership before considering this.
Cheers,

I remember this exact same ad with same sellers but was for a red witch (I think thats the type) yacht.

Something definitely up here

Hi again:

Further to my earlier post, I have learnt today that the seller is indeed genuine, and is apparently suffering some severe financial hardships.

They do indeed own the Investigator they had put up (reluctantly) for sale, solely to help them raise enough money to keep their house.

I therefore sincerely apologise to this family for any upset I may have caused them, and wish them all the best with their sale.

I understand the boat is under offer of sale now and someone will pick up a very good bargain. However, if the sale falls through, and anyone out there is looking for a good boat, then keep an eye on eBay for their re-listing.

Cheers,
Geoff

Hi again:

I've learnt today that the sale of this SE Melbourne based boat did not proceed as planned, so it will be advertised again very soon on eBay.

For the asking price, it seems like a bargain.

I'll let you know when I hear more, but anyone after an Investigator in good original condition would be well advised to give it some thought.

Please note I have no connection with the sale; I have enough to do on my own boat!

I just heard through sailing connections that it's at least worth a look.

I'll post the eBay link once it's up again, and you can make your own calls on this.

Cheers,
Geoff

Hi all,

Yes I know been way too long since I was here  LIfe you know how it goes and some here will know of my challenges.
Anyway, relisted starting $4000 no bids at this stage.

It is up again and IMHO from what I can see it is a bargain, even if trailer needed some work.
Noted that;
The description has been provided by G Russel Vice Commodore Geelong Trailerble Yacht Club. Thanks Geoff.
Cheers

Hi all:

Yes, the family selling this boat asked me for some help to rewrite their ad, which I was more than happy to do so (for free).

They've had a tough time, so it was the least I could do.

I've not seen the boat in the flesh, but believe that at that price it would have to be a bargain!

Cheers,
