Hi Folks,
Any one doing the Bay to Bay this year?
I've wanted to do it for years. I'm toying with doing it with my mate Brian.
My question is: Is two enough crew? Would it be better with three?
Cheers, Robert

Re: Bay to Bay
Hi Peter,
The event is in Qld. From Tin Can Bay up the inside of Fraser Island to Hervey Bay. Bit of an institution up here.

Re: Bay to Bay
Righto, well its settled.
I'm registered complete with race number.
Am taking one other with me (Brian of sunmaid 20 fame).
I'll let you all know how it goes.
In the meantime I'm readying the boat for a few days out in the southern waters of Moreton Bay over Easter.

Re: Bay to Bay
Hi Folks,
Had a hoot of a time.
Here is a link to a vid on youtube that gives you a feel for the Saturday's racing.

Apparently we came first in our catagory (shoal keel, rank newbie handcap, standard sails) on the Saturday. I was happy to over take a macGregor, a Sonata, the careels and a careel 22.
Unfortunately, on the Sunday we were caught in the doldrums and eventually had to retire.
Could have done with less rowdy boats in the over night anchorage (these were a bunch of Bogans who had hired a fishing/house boat and who demolished a few bottles of Vodka and then sang all night), but all the sailers were great.
There were 157 enties!!
Recon I might do it again.
Cheers, Robert
