Hi folks,
I know we've discussed this before but it's still on my to do list. Does anyone have a picture of the original anchor locker latch (or any other good solutions). Here's what mine looks like now (no latch)...

One of mine has none but the other has this latch. The extra hole there makes me wonder if this one is not the original.

In case it's not immediately obvious that's underneath the lid. You poke a little finger through and lift the tang.

by no way
The last pic is the set up. There's a hole in the lid with a plastic grommet surround to allow you to put finger thru to release latch. Might add that when I went to replace the grommet I couldn't find anywhere so just used bung surround and reamed thread out. The original was probably a PNP brand fitting

Geoff, I reckon that photo is sport on, that's exactly what I was envisaging to do to mine. Like an inside cupboard catch through the hole in the lid.

Thanks Geoff, I thought it might be one of those but couldn't quite figure how it would hold.

Yes it looks like something you would pinch off nannas crockery cupboard, if it was in gal or ss.

Ian, the business end just clips under the lip of the locker.

WW do one in brass for $9. Spritzig had one when I bought it but the spring was gone. I cut bit of cured silicon into a wedge and glued that in there and it acted as a return mechanism . I eventually replaced it when the inner clasp angle bit fell off . It’s a bugger to line up the new one as the holes were slightly different. I wonder if this would be strong enough to stop the anchor from moonwalking out through the hatch In a knockdown

Hope I never test it .

They do a teak trim ring too but I’m too cheap for that so repainted the plastic one multiple times.
