Early Hull on trailer, FB, Melbourne

Post by Andrew »

A hull on trailer for sale in Melbourne, (NB Mast and stays there too, rest of rig gone)

She is probably from the same early production run as my boat Teria (#9)
Could make a good moored river/lake fishing putt putt. The trailer frame and centerplate would need to be checked out for rust.

Chatting with the owner, says the mast and stays are still there.
But there are no other spars, no sails or running rigging.

Hey Andrew,

Is the poptop like yours or has it been modified? Different to mine.

Hi Geoff,

The poptop frame is different from my one, i think my one is original standard design.

I've been messaging John the owner. His hull still has the outboard bracket but no rudder and he doesn't know the boats previous history.
I told him about this i563 web forum and the i563 FB page where i first saw his add. and let him know about Teria being a close sister-ship to his boat.

Cheers
Andrew

Thanks Andrew. All the others I have seen have a cantilever design and no full width front bar as that one does.

This is a later boat as it has the two hinge, front hatch design. Serial number would be greater than 100. The pop tops looks like it has been modified at some time.

The boat would make a great project for someone.

That hatch, stem fitting, anchor cleat, and trailer winch look identical to Terias. Perhaps im mistaken about Terias production number?

Andrew,
Teria's old through-hull outboard mount puts it amongst the very first boats. I'd say that your hull number is correct. The position of the bilge pump outlet also confirms that it is an early boat (like mine).

THIS BOAT HAS BEEN REDUCED TO $700.

Sorry for upper case but sheesh , if anybody wants a 563 this is a bargain. Even paying for some of the fix up would put you ahead. Anyway don’t let it go to the tip :x
