I thought we had a useful links thread somewhere and here it was . I’ve bumped it up to start adding to it again and made it a sticky. If you have a good link not just on Investigators or sailing but possibly a DIY that would benefit members or even towing or stoves or food storage go for it. A short description plus link would be good . After we get a few we will consolidate them into one post and keep adding, I hope .

I’ll kick it off.

Practical boat owner forum . Some good advice to be found here

https://forums.ybw.com/index.php?forums ... reader.13/

And from last week . Some vintage stuff . Check out his “repelled boarders” story.

While looking back on the first page of posts from 2009 I came across reference to this site. It’s still running and the magazine articles page has some good reading, some of which is relevant to us not just power boaters. The more generalised boat articles (and less US centric) are scattered throughout the site.

There are lots of boating ”tip” sites on the net but this has some really good stuff I’d not seen before.

https://www.boatingmag.com/50-top-boating-tips-tricks/

For example
26. Liquid dish soap applied to carpeted trailer bunks will help the boat slide off more easily at a shallow ramp. 27. Tow tip: Wipe your boat down with liquid soap before a long haul to make bugs and grit easy to remove once you arrive.

If anyone comes across any good tips or has invented one yourself please post them here. This thread is a bit sparse.

Above is the “sailboatdata” link to the Investigator. It’s been mentioned in various threads but I noted that there was no link here. You can get the tables tattooed on your bicep if you want a handy reference when sailing
