Nice job Huey. I never dis the humble pop rivet, it’s a great fixing system and I’ve been using them for 50 years. How will you mount it for use on the boat?

Thank you Ozzie,

It’s a bit rough round the edges but will do the job for now.

Will probably make a weather resistant box with a handle of SS or rope.

Ultimate goal is to make a custom galley box that holds everything from couple plates, eating utensils, cups, brew kit and enough food for a cruise.

Also possibly make a matching washing up station with a small sink hand pumped tap with fresh and grey water container.

Both would fit under the cockpit inside the cabin and roll or slide out whichever is the most secure.

Just been watching a lot of YouTube, it’s not a new idea. I don’t own an investigator yet so would depend on what comes with the boat I buy just waiting for the right one at the right time so have to wait so it fits the space perfectly and secure as light as possible to.

Until then will probably use the mess kit on a smaller day sailor that can give me a fix.

That Origo 2burner price is crazy!. The almost identical brand new copy by Compass24 now called "Compass 3000" is 320pounds sterling (plus freight) allot "cheaper"

check out their video, just need to brush up on your German ;)

For an Investigator563 the "Compass 1500" single burner is 230 pounds sterling )plus freight) https://www.compass24.com/comfort/pantr ... hol-cooker (it used to be called "Alcohol pan 1500")

Hi Andrew, poking around on the net looking at “images” for small sailboats as it often turns up interesting stuff. This one popped up with a “Sea Swing “ stove in operation. Thought you’d be interested.

Cabin looks cosy with kero lamp and stove. It would need to be bloody cosy to get be out in the cabin now it’s freezing here during the day let alone at night.🥶 9degrees but feels like minus 2

That's an interesting gimball system for a small yacht Ozzie,
Have seen a few DIY gimball systems online too, like one to hold a trangia on a 12ft welsford scamp.

Got another "boat" stove to add. Bought a Trangia 25 recently, it's the big brother of the trangia's. Has more holding capacity than my faithful T27. Like the kettle makes 3 hot cuppa's in one boil. It should be good for bucketbath water heating or crew food aboard.

Also bought the gas burner for it, yet to try it but should be very quick and roars :)
