Packed for cruising

Post by Dr. Peter »

We only travel 2-up and use the V-berth for a lot of stuff. Small plastic boxes with lids weatherproofs our gear. Heavy stuff like food and water go under the V-berth where the potapotty is usually found. The portapotty goes at the stern of the boat under the tiller. To use it - you move it. In the other storage space at the front you'll find 15m of electric power cord in a dry bag, an electric toaster, and boat guitar (3/4 sized).

The starboard side lazzerette holds two eskies, two primus stoves, spare gas cylinders, a double-burner portable bbq (never again), a kettle and the pot.

25L Fuel, tarpaulins x 3, fenders, all mooring ropes (including the really long rope), go in the port side laz.

Back inside, the fender board, bilge pumps, bucket full of emergency stuff, lifejackets live under the cockpit floor alongside the battery. The recesses under the quarter berths, being cool and dry, make good places for bread and vegetables and fruit.
