Some basic Info on the Investigator 563

Post by Yara50 »

We have a lot of catching up to do, but in the meanwhile, here is a link to the basic info on trailersailerplace

The Investigator 563 is a shoal draft trailerable yacht. Weighing in as a total towing rig at around 1200 kg, it can be towed by most family cars. The safety of a fully ballasted fixed keel, coupled with flotation, makes it ideal for sailing independently, or in waters which are only semi-enclosed.

Prices (2007) range from $1500 for a restoration project, to $10,000 for one fitted out for cruising and in good condition. Typically around $8,000.
Standard is 4 berths, pop-top, sliding hatch, anchor well. Most are also fitted with pushpit, pulpit and lifelines. The cabin is free of centreboard casing.

The attached document has the statistics and a contemporary review.
