Marauder 823 plus a coupla’ feet

Post by Ozzie »

This is described as being designed from the “popular Marauder 823” but is 29’ with four side windows. The interior looks very similar. Anyway found by accident. One for Ray. The great grandfather of Investigators. Wonder if KS had any input. May have been after his time.

Seems that the Marauder 823 was in fact designed by Kevin Shepherd. See below

Yes Peter the 823 was a KS design, but this one is 29 feet rather than 27. Has four side windows and looking I’d say it was the cabin area that’s been stretched. Assume from description it may have been a one off by the builder. I just wondered if KS was consulted on the modified version or had any input.

Brings up an interesting question I guess. Can you copy a boat if it’s for your own use and not for commercial purposes and then what is the legal status if you sell it later. Not relevant to old designs I suppose but just an interesting thought. The seller is not being secretive about it. Obviously it’s a selling point.
