Whats the furthest anybody has braved offshore

Hey guys, I know trailer sailors aren't meant for offshore sailing, but the other night I was curious about how far people have dared to sail their Investigators from the shoreline.

Love to hear ;) - also whats the max amount of people you'd take out on a trip?

Re: Rudder Gudgeon Replacement

Hi Ray,
You're right, it's about 5mm tight which means a little bit of rudder modification will be required, I figure it's as close as it's going to get so am happy to make it work. As far as the shape goes it's almost exact. Hope that helps!

Hi guys, Just thought I'd give you an update on the Gudgeon replacement. My order for the Riley RM589 arrived the other day and has turned out to be a perfect replacement. Please see a few photos below of how it compares to the original. Cost of the Gudgeon (x2) came to around $80+$15 postage. So th...

Re: Help with Anti-foul removal

Lol, I'm allergic to expensive too ;) - thanks Ozzie, just bought a vacuum scrapper online last night, I've borrowed my sister in law's pressure hose, so will use both in combination and let you know how it goes :)

What's the name of the epoxy you use?

Help with Anti-foul removal

Originally i was going to just sand and repaint the top side and leave the bottom for another time to worry about. but as I've noticed there's some repairs i need to make under the waterline and now want to resand the whole thing an...

Re: Rudder Gudgeon Replacement

Hi Ian, Ray and Ozzie - Thanks for the warm welcome :) I managed to find a similar part online RM589 on the Riley site. Not a perfect replacement, but with minimum modification of my rudder I think I should be able to make it work. Thanks for the prompt responses and advise, will let you guys know i...

Rudder Gudgeon Replacement

Hi everyone! my first post on the i563 forum. I'm a relatively new i563 owner and currently working on some repairs to get my boat sea worthy. One of the many things I need to look at repairing / replacing is my rudder gudgeon due to wear around the gudgeon holes... Has anybody here undertaken a sim...
