Re: Anatomy of an Investigator??

Hi, I fitted a cheap plastic mushroom vent. It was only $9.95 I think. It can be screwed down tight for weather proofing, it has a built in mozzie mesh and adjustable height, which can be adjusted from in the cabin, or from on top (by spinning the mushroom) which is handy, if you think you're about ...

Re: Anatomy of an Investigator??

Hi Ozzie, Yes, well certainly the cabin top is cored. I had read this somewhere before I bought the boat, being advised to check that the deck and cabin top were not spongy - which indicates that water has got into the core. When I installed my vent, just in front of the mast tabenacle, but, far eno...

Re: Boat heating,cooking and stoves

Good thread Ozzie, We currently use one of these on Palamida. Currently we only use it in the cockpit -not because it is closer to the fuel tank, but because it is in the open. We are not comfortable using it in the cabin as any leaked gas, being butane, and heavier than air (so I am led to believe)...

Qlders getting together with the careels

Hi folks,

Garry, Larry, Gunter and Bob, How about we try to get together with the careels. They seem to have a heap of nice family oriented outings. What's your thoughts.

Or, shall we try again for a companion sail out of Manly??

Cheers, Robert B

Guess I'll have to call him and find out what's happening.

He said he'd be here Monday! Why didn't he call to excuss himself?

Re: new car/boat port for 'Palamida'

Hi Ian, I note that they refer to Herr trotter. I belive that I may have met this man at the boat ramp. He has a very pretty Careel 18 and he works as a teacher of german language. Hmm, I think his name may be Peter. He has posted in trailersailerplace under a Germanic login name. It would be good t...

new car/boat port for 'Palamida'

Hi folks, I bit the bullet and heading into Easter, contacted a builder to have a car/boat port constructed down the side of the house to cover the boat and protect it from the harsh Qld sun. He came by and measured up and delivered a quote that we thought was ok and so gave the green light. Well, t...

Re: That was unexpected......

Hi Folks,

Nice to see 'Palamida' on the list of suggested pics, but this one taken by 'Margarita's' skipper Bob, should be included too.

Cheers, Robert
