Re: Loose foot?
Hi Sean, My investigator mainsail has a bolt rope in the foot and is furled by wrapping it around the boom. I have three bolt-holes in the leach to help me do that. There is no outhaul or cunningham and so the only stretching is with the halyard and the gooseneck position. It is practically impossib...

I bought a main, furling jib and code zero from them back in 2011 and was very happy with the results and the service. Check the FB site for how they look now. See elsewhere on the forum for commentary about them.

Barber-Haulers
Ian asked me about barber-haulers in a different post and thought it best to start a new thread rather than hijack the original one. For those that don't know barber-haulers are a simple way to adjust the sheeting angle on your headsail. You will also find them set up with spinnakers. I have posted ...

Re: Centreboard angle
Next sail out I will collect the data with the board up and do a comparison. Now that would be good data but Steve, make sure you think carefully about the design of the experiment. You need to make it so the only factor being altered is the centerboard position if you can. Try and keep everything ...

Re: up coming trips for summer were next are you sailing
Port Phillip Bay out of Pier 35 - a commercial marina. We spent eight nights and nine days away and it was great. We managed to transfer three days up to their Melbourne operation for no extra charge and spent some city time there. My wife called it retail therapy, but I think it was for her not me....

Re: Centreboard angle
Changing the rudder for something decent reduces weather helm. Reefing the main reduces weather helm. I reckon the best angle is 0. This weekend, we were out in 25 knots, 1m swell, two reefs in the main, and a big deep and wide ex-Hartley 18 rudder (it's steel plate) in place of the standard rudder,...

Re: What Battery?
Just got back from a trip and the battery let us down. It was very dim on the houselights and the depth sounder and nav lights did not work at all. Still it buffered the shore-line supply. So once again - I need a battery. A very good friend of mine made the following suggestion: He said, "Buy ...
