Re: Hanked-on headsails
No more responses unless you really want to. I have decided to order exactly what I had before from Eastwind Sails, a furling headsail of the standard size. In the end I decided since I was so happy with the first sail from them, why change?

Hanked-on headsails
Good afternoon, The recent severe storms across the country managed to tear my self furling headsail in two. I had my boat in mast-up storage mode when this happened. So, with adversity, comes opportunity. in this instance: hanked on headsails. I was thinking about something a little smaller than st...

Re: Sign Writing your boats name
On my first trailer sailer I just bought the necessary stick on letters from Bunnings and wrote the boat's name and the acronym YYC (Yarrawonga Yacht Club) on the stern. I used the same method to put the boat registration number on both sides of the bow. My boat was blue and I used stickers which we...

I suspected this might be a problem which is why I thought a pre-measured 800ml bottile might be handy.

Re: Best outboard for an investigator563
Anyway, back to motors. My 2.3 hp Honda pushed the boat along fine at less than half throttle. So unless you are trying to bash straight into a 25 knot headwind, I am sure a 4hp would be more than enough with the right prop. Hi Ian, I have bit the bullet and bought a 2.3hp Honda. Portability became...

Re: Internet users and NBN
I live in country Victoria and we got the Labor government version, pre-NBN. Everything goes to the house WIFI and is beamed to and from somewhere. It is great! My school across the road has its own fibre optic cable that runs directly to the nearest tower and this pre-dated the Rudd-Gillard version...

Re: Cruising and racing.
I am a racer, but not in 563s. I am the foredeck come cockpit hand and even when cruising I like to get the best from the sails. I think the number one difference between racing and cruising is that racers - race! Their head is in race mode. Whenever my "racing' skipper starts to wander. I say,...

Re: New sails, shorter Main?
My two cents: There's no association that organises races for 563s as far as I know and if you aren't interested in racing in mixed classes then do what you like. However, if you have a view to selling later on then perhaps you could buy a nice new standard-sized main for 'normal use' and have your ...
