Greg,
Can't answer your questions but if you are in Brisbane you are welcome to come around and measure mine.
Otherwise if you can't find the details somewhere else I'll measure up and take some photos of my set-up, although I'm not sure if it is standard or not.

Whale Watching
Just back from Whale Watching in Hervey Bay (Wathumba Creek). Caught up with Gunter in Tosca. Had a great time and will be back next year barring other commitments.

Re: Mast Question.
Ian, I didn't know that I was so clever. I just didn't know any better! I figured that was the way everybody did it. As Robert says, my forestay has two thimble ends. One to connect to the jib furler, and the other to haul on the forestay so that the forestay can be connected. When raising the mast ...

Re: Mast Question.
My mast is a constant section, but I can raise it single-handed without the aid of a gin pole. (I'm average height so it's not a matter of size or strength) Don't know the section but it's not what I would have called "light" i.e. it looks substantial for the size of boat, and I had wonder...

You obviously got your trailer serviceable again.
Another time we'll have to have grudge race with Investigators vs. Careels?

Riverfire 2009
Had a great weekend on the river this weekend for the Riverfire fireworks. Fantastic weather.
Anchored near the Story Bridge (best spot) and not only had a great view of the fireworks but the F111 dump and burn, as well as the Roulettes right over the boat.

Re: kick-up rudder
Matt, There is a design available for an Investigator. I have a hard copy but I'm sure someone will respond and tell you where to find an electronic copy. It used to be on the old Investigator site I think. Anyway if we can't find a copy let me know and I'll scan the one I have and email it to you. ...

Re: GPS units - please help this simpleton
Matt, My business involves applying GPS in aviation, so I have some interest in things GPS. I've dealt with the most sophisticated GPS nav systems available, have taught GPS navigation in aircraft and all sorts of things but I have a very basic model in my boat. I use a Garmin GPS60, which you can g...

Re: Screensaver Views
Good stuff, Ian.
I'll post a couple more.
The first two are Palamida. Maybe we can accumulate pics of all the members' boats.
