Re: Outhaul and reefing Query

It was like that when I bought the boat. It would be very easy to fit one, or get one fitted. The outhaul tensioner runs a series of blocks for a reduction, they are located inside the boom. There are two cheek blocks on the boom alternate sides for the 1st and second reef. I usually only use the se...

Re: Now, I am a little confused about my Headsail setup

Tenaciousgreen on small boats most just drop the Genoa not roll it if it has a wire luff. just use a mast head halyard not the normal jib Halyard 11145940_861417363917428_48311105_n.jpg as for the storm sail i think your better getting a new one with some brass piston hacks to go on your normal jib...

Re: Mast Fittings, Sheaves and Halyards

I have halyards running aft through deck organizers to rope clutches and winches.
4 lines = main halyard, jib halyard, spinnaker halyard and boom topping lift.
The halyards go through exit blocks and turning blocks at the base of the mast, works well :)

Re: Just bought a 563

Hi Aussie' Thanks for posting that link(http://www.lankhorsttaselaar.com/Catalog/Rig/Jib+Rollers/Ronstan/Ronstan+jib+furlers-2/product.aspx) I now see how some 563 sailors may modify it to do away with a forestay and just use a wire luff sail to carry the rig on a furler. I think Dr Peter uses somet...
