Re: Swinging, swinging keel

Finally got the CB out. Drilled a small hole and attached a shackle, had an olympic bar and 140kg + two adult standing at each end, totalling 250kg and the the cb only dropped half way. Eventually my wife got it out, she has more patience than i do. The rust and the plastic plates (does anyone know ...

Re: Swinging, swinging keel

Looks likes I'm not the only one with swinging keel issues. I managed to get it down after hours under the boat with rust falling all over my face. Built a DIY hoist with left over metal to get a better access. Will spend the next few days working on it, at the moment only brute force will move the ...

Re: What have you done with the space under the V Berth?

Peter: CheersGood question! I understand that on some Investigators, the under berth areas are sealed and filled with flotation foam. Mine are sealed but they sound hallow, I dont think there is any foam. Has anyone cut open the sealed V berth to make storage space? any advice pro/cons? cheers JP

'trust me'

Hi all,
I spent my first day working on the boat and find out it used to be called "trust Me" reg DU922, main sail 148, head sail 33.
Has anyone heard or seen this boat in it's former glory?

Re: outboard motor size

thanks everyone, just missed a bid on two stroke 5hp on ebay. My boat was the one mentioned on your post, it was on ebay and one of your member inspected it. It was originaly moored in Williamstown and the previous owner brought it to Borona but never did any work on it. He has a MC gregor now. I wi...

Re: outboard motor size

cheers Peter,
that's what i thought. Saw a 3.3HP at a good price and was tempted. It's hard to find a good 5HP at a reasonable price.
Thanks Yara,
4/5HP are usually the same weight so would go for a 5hp.

Has anyone any view on 2 stroke or 4 stroke? 2 stroke are banned in Europe now.

outboard motor size

Hi everyone,

Just bought an investigator few weeks ago and I am looking for an engine. From previous post i noticed that 5HP seemed to be the concesus on a good size. I was wandering if a 3.3HP Mercury would suffecient or not for the boat.

cheers
