Extra long Investigator on Trading post
Gidday all .
Spotted an extended Investigator on the Trading Post . Asking $14000 and 21 feet long. Might inspire some members to make theirs longer !

Re: Good Design Plate and Sail Number
Gidday all .
My boat came with the Good Design plate supplied loose . Sure enough on the back of the plate is the number 90 which matches my sail number. Note that the number is a little rough , as in done by a hand engraver , not a stamp.

Investigator for sale Bracken Ridge Qld
Gidday all . Went to see a local Investigator for sale. The boat is listed on http://www.boatsales.com.au (SSE-AD-245437) and is located in Bracken Ridge a northern suburb of Brisbane. The boat is a later model with the double hinged front hatch . It was based in Canberra and used in freshwater , wh...

Re: Another centre board removal question.
Gidday all . Thinking on a bit.... be careful using aluminium in salt water if there is any chance of contact with stainless steel , remarkable corrosion can result ! Has anyone tried laminating a board using epoxy and glassfibre ? Perhaps alternating layers of chopped strand and unidirectional woul...

Re: Another centre board removal question.
Gidday all . I would recommend using stainless wire , not from a strength point of view , but because of abrasion resistance . The wire runs up a fairly narrow tube into the cabin , so swages need to be tight . One swage can be made on the bench but the lower one has to be done under the boat . Make...

Re: Storage and use of space
Gidday all . On this topic has anyone got a photo of a table installation ? Do I need to install a centre-board case to mount the table on ? Also where is the table stowed when not in use ?

As far as I can see on Boatsales.com.au the advert is no longer there. Probably boat has been sold . Given its good condition this is not surprising !

Re: Selling
Gidday Benson . Sadly this year is proving to be one when it is extremely hard to sell any sailing boat . I have tried and failed over a number of months to sell mine . The Trading Post has listed two Investigators for a number of months with no movement . Ebay results in very low prices but only on...
