Waterline
Hi Folks Can one of you very clever and nice people tell me where the water line is on the investigator 563 please. Ideally, I'd get some measurements from the underside of the gunwale down to the waterline. If it is constant perfect. If not can I get measurement from bow and stern then 4 more at sa...

Re: Keel shims
Hi Again everyone More advice sought please. I picked up my investigator today and I'm not so sure about the work I had done. There is now a 2-3mm lip on the inside of the CB case ( see photo ). My main concern is that this may allow excessive CB lateral movement and/or possibly chew out the plastic...

Re: Beaching investigators
Hi Team I have used regular scaffolding in a recent project lifting my boat off the trailer for a CB refit. This is a $3 (on ebay) Putlog Butterfly clip. you can attach it to a piece of aluminium or steel scaffold tube, I think I'd go with the aluminium. It could be easily height adjusted easily for...

Re: Pop top variants
Hi Greg I've just been doing some maintenance on my pop-top. Glad to say it's working much more smoothly now. I'd be happy to send you photos of what I've got, I think it's original if that would help? Mine has the remnants of a very ole elastic occy strap hanging off it. I haven't quite figured out...

Keel shims
Hello Brains trust. I'm about to reinstall my swing keel. I have 2 x 20cm thin (1mm or less) plastic octagon disks for either side of the keel. It strikes me that there will still be some gap between the keel and the inside of the keel box. There is a hard plastic bush in the keel itself but it is o...

Re: keel mechanism not jammed
WOO HOO, EEE HA AND "TISH" YEAH The keel rope is free. I got the keel down far enough to get a 5mm steel rod with a hooked end and got a hold of the little bugger. After a brief altercation, I took him into custody. The end is attached to a saddle with an eye (see photo) not sure how it wa...

Re: keel mechanism jammed
Hi Again Brainstrust Attached is a photo of the keel down but not all the way. Obviously no cord. There doesn't seem to be much "meat" on the keel. i.e. the hole for the cord is very close to the edge. Is this normal? It looks quite different from the diagram posted on this thread by Raya ...

Re: keel mechanism jammed
Thanks Pete. I tried that it didn't achieve much more and it became very wobbly and I was not keen to continue with the jack.
A good thought nonetheless.
Cheers

Re: keel mechanism jammed
Thanks everyone for your feedback. I sort of like Ozzie's idea of diving. However, It's almost quicker for me to build a scaffold cradle that to drive to the boat ramp and I dont have to hold my breath whilst working on it. There is a guy about 30 minutes from me who advertises the use of his 2 post...
